Proyecto Amistad is a independent, bi-national Presbyterian ministry that brings together believers from Mexico and the United States for fellowship and to equip parents, churches, and schools for implementing wholistic, biblical, Christian education. Families and nations are healed when their decisions are guided by God’s principles and vision for life.
These Clubs, a total of 16, opearte in churches in Noreste (7) and Huastecas (9) Presbyteries of the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico give children a safe place to go on Friday afternoon or Saturday where they can be nurtured - heart, mind, and soul. Church volunteers teach the children Bible and Literature (using the AMO® curriculum designed by Chrysalis International), music, sports, and many other things, in accordance with the gifts of volunteers. Children receive a meal and school materials. Your donations to Amistad provide materials, training for volunteer instructors and program materials.
Leadership development happens naturally as local volunteers prepare for and provide education for children through Clubs Amistad. The children, their parents, and local church volunteers are all touched by the program. But, Proyecto Amistad also provides scholarships for promising youth who demonstrate leadership potential but who may not have the financial resources to continue their educational goals. Currently we have two university, three high school, and three seminary students receiving scholarships.
